Nikki Takes the Wrestling World by Storm...

One of our friend and training buddy Nicola Glencross is quite literally taking the UK wrestling scene by storm. Nicola who wrestles as Nikki Storm is one of the great female talents on the UK scene so we wanted to ask this Fitness Diva what drew her to to wrestling and what she does to stay in top ring condition.

We asked Nikki what attracted her to wrestling...

I absolutely loved wrestling from the minute I watched it. The athleticism, the characters, the stories, everything about it just drew me in.

Earlier this year our paths crossed training wise when Nikki was introduced to the benefits of weight training. We enjoyed a few hardcore sessions lifting heavy and taking out our aggression with the power of a sledgehammer. I was curious, before the introduction of heavy weights what sort of training did you do?...

Before adding weight training I did a lot of CV training and a lot of body weight exercises and endurance training.
Since I started weight training back in April I have seen great improvements to my strength and also my legs and shoulders and back have more definition.

Do you have any idols in fitness or wrestling?...

My idols are Natalya and Beth phoenix, both WWE superstars and also I am inspired by Jessica Ennis. So amazing well accomplished inspirational but humble and down to earth.

What’s the plan training wise for Nikki Storm moving forward?...

My goals in fitness are to be the best I can be. I want to be as healthy as I can by being  CV fit and also really strong.
I want to wrestle all over the world and have a great strong looking body as I think that's how female wrestlers should look.

What’s your key to building a fit lean body?...

I think a mix of CV, circuits and weight training is best and for anyone who is stuck in a rut, the best thing you can do is try different things, use different training systems and employ diffrent things like kettlebells and medicine balls. I am a qualified personal trainer and qualified in kettlebells, studio cycling and circuits.
